Nine’s broadcast of Harvey Norman Beach Footy sure to get fans fired up for 2007 NRL season!

Sydney, 19 February 2007: The TV broadcast of the Harvey Norman Beach Footy event on the Nine Network is to commence on Sunday 25th February for four consecutive Sundays in the lead up to the 2007 NRL Season.

The biggest names in rugby league and some of Australia’s hottest celebrities participated in the Harvey Norman Beach Footy event held at Maroubra Beach in Sydney on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 December 2006. The broadcast will feature all the games and highlights of this unique five-a-side touch football event that consists of six teams including the Blues, Maroons, Young Guns, Kiwis/Pacific Islanders, Celebrities and Australian Women’s Touch Team.

The coverage will bring the Harvey Norman Beach Footy stars to TVs in NSW, QLD and VIC. Some of the key stars include Harvey Norman Beach Footy ambassador Gorden Tallis, Peter Lonard, Jake Wall, Luke Ricketson, Mo’onia Gerrard, Lote Tuqiri, Anthony Mundine, Anthony Field of The Wiggles, Nick Riewoldt and Wally Masur, just to name a few. Other high profile players involved in the event include Darren Lockyer, Andrew Johns, Willie Mason, Billy Slater, Mark Gasnier, Matt Cooper and Jerry Collins.

Harvey Norman Beach Footy featured a special live performance by 2006 Australian Idol winner, Damien Leith as well as Sony BMG artists The Hiptones and The Inches. The entertainment at the event also included bikini contests, fashion parades and cheerleaders.

Harvey Norman Beach Footy combined football, fashion and fun together in a lifestyle event that the whole family can now enjoy in their own lounge room. What a great way to get ready for the 2007 NRL Season.
